About the work:
Decomposition is part of a series exploring the quiet poetry of decay. In this piece, three decomposing flowers were arranged and exposed directly onto sensitized paper, their fragile forms captured in vivid Prussian blue. The resulting silhouettes trace the contours of life in transition — delicate remnants of bloom, slowly returning to the earth.
This work was created using the cyanotype process: hand-coating the paper with a light-sensitive solution, placing botanical specimens, and exposing it to sunlight. The natural degradation of the flowers adds complexity and unpredictability to the final image, revealing textures and layers that speak to time, memory, and impermanence.
Framed in a clean white wooden frame, this piece is ready to display either on its own or as part of the ongoing Decomposition series.
